About Us - The Company

TAG Hardware designs, engineers and manufactures consumer products for the modular furniture industry. Our 30,000 square foot manufacturing plant is located in South Surrey. The facility houses plastic injection molding machines, assembly work stations and a warehouse, where we assemble our patented products for delivery globally.

Our products are seen frequently in a variety of media spaces including home improvement shows and print magazines. TAG solutions are found wherever you find high end homes across the world. Since 2002, we have experienced steady growth and are in search of Junior Data Ranger to join our young, dynamic team.

We focus on leveraging the strengths and interests of our people, rather than imposing rigid job descriptions. TAG is a learning environment and we are continually evolving our systems to embrace new technology where it is a fit for our operations.

Our size and structure allow us to be flexible and agile, and to take advantage of emerging technology without the red-tape and obstacles typical in large organizations. We dream big, we work together, we execute and we have fun. Our small team is comprised of talented, respectful and helpful individuals. Sharing of ideas and perspectives is valued and encouraged. Visit www.taghardware.com to see what we are about!

About you - Competencies and Skills

You are a relentless trouble-shooter. You get satisfaction from supporting a very appreciative team of end users. You logically attack a problem or challenge in an efficient and methodical order, eliminating possibilities until you uncover a solution. You often come up with suggestions for ways to improve systems to prevent future occurrences.

At the same time, being a Ranger means you're not stuck to any particular 'way' or tool for solving problems. You have tried-and-tested methods, but you also know when to put them aside and pay attention to hunches and ideas that may look different from past approaches. There will be ample opportunity for honing these skills.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Programming
  • Critical thinking
  • Complex problem solving
  • Judgment and decision making
  • Monitoring
  • Systems analysis and evaluation
  • Project Management
  • Preference to candidates with some experience in ERP systems, specifically Syspro.
  • Experience with more advanced SQL statements and database views also a bonus.

Preference will be given to candidates who also have an interest in learning about data systems. In addition to the IT-related issues and projects, you could also have exposure to some development, such as:

  • Business Intelligence (Microsoft Power Query/Power BI)
  • VBA, VBScript, Python
  • DevOps
  • cloud APIs
  • warehouse automation
  • all other data systems integrations that comprise our orchestrated technology ecosystem.

TAG suits those who
